Nicole Martin, RD, CD
President
Nicole has been practicing as a dietitian for over 11 years at Children’s Wisconsin, and her areas of interest include nutrition informatics and enteral nutrition support. She has been involved with CPNP since 2016 and has had the honor of serving as the CPNP Media Chair before becoming President-elect and now President. As President, Nicole has enjoyed fostering CPNP member engagement and supporting members' professional development.
Brock Williams, PhD, RD, CNSC
President-elect
Brock is a Clinical Research Dietitian at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids; Toronto). Over the past 12 years, he has worked as both a clinical and research dietitian in areas spanning Translational Medicine, Gastroenterology/Hepatology/Nutrition, and Allergy and Immunology. His major clinical and research interests lie in micronutrients, nutritional immunology, and childhood feeding (human milk feeding, complementary feeding and the prevention and treatment of food allergy). Brock has served as the Research Chair on the CPNP Executive Committee, and in the role of President-elect, Brock hopes to support professional development opportunities for CPNP members.
Venus S. Kalami, MNSP, RD, CSP
Secretary Treasurer
Venus [ven-oos] is a board-certified pediatric dietitian nutritionist and advocate-at-heart for culturally, socioeconomically, and weight-inclusive nutrition. With training from Tufts, Stanford, and FARE, she subspecializes in empowering children of all ages with digestive and allergic conditions to live the fullest lives, by building positive relationships with food and their bodies. Through her passion for food, psychology, and cultural humility, her unique and individualized perspective on nutrition has been featured on media outlets such as CBS KPIX-5, Good Morning America, VeryWell Health, Motherly, Health Talks, Insider, The Conversation, and Health Professional Radio, as well as professional conferences.
Nikki Misner, MS, RDN, CSDH
Research Chair
Nikki is an outpatient registered dietitian at the University of South Florida in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition with seven years of experience in GI nutrition and serves as the Research Chair for CPNP. Her research interests focus on advancing nutrition care and health equity for children with GI conditions, and her goal as CPNP Research Chair is to grow and strengthen nutrition research within pediatric gastroenterology. Nikki is also one of the co-hosts of Nutrition Pearls: The Pediatric GI Nutrition Podcast and served as Media Chair from 2022-2024.
Megan Murphy, RD, CSP
Clinical Practice Chair
Megan works at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. She’s been a dietitian for over 15 years, and has worked in both adult and pediatric care, in hospitals, clinics and various community settings. She holds a Certificate of Training in Pediatric Food Allergy, and currently works exclusively in GI clinics, covering everything from General GIto Celiac, EOE/food allergies, IBD, and liver disease patients. As Clinical Practice Chair, Megan hopes to continue to bring up-to-date educational content through our Nutrition Pearls Podcast for all our CPNP members to enjoy.
Michelle Yavelow, MS, RD, LD, CNSC, CSP
Communications Chair
Michelle works as an outpatient dietitian in the USF Health Pediatrics Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. She is also the USF Health Pediatric Pulmonary Cystic Fibrosis dietitian. She has been practicing as a registered dietitian in pediatrics for 4 years. Michelle has special interests in nutrition support, infant growth, and managing nutrition in patients with cystic fibrosis on highly effective modulator therapy. Michelle serves on the NASPGHAN Public Education committee and has contributed to the CPNP newsletter.
Elizabeth (Lisa) Cooley, MS, RD, LD, CNSC
Media Chair
For the past 5 years, Lisa has worked at Riley Children’s Health in outpatient gastroenterology. While it was her own journey with IBS and success with the FODMAP diet that drew her to GI, she has developed a love for working with the intestinal rehabilitation and aerodigestive patients. Her interest in nutrition support led her to obtaining her CNSC in the Fall of 2023. Lisa welcomes the opportunity to further her involvement with CPNP.
Tamara Sims-Dorway, RD, CSP, LS/N
Program Chair
Tamara is an experienced Registered Dietitian who is a board-certified specialist in pediatric nutrition. She is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team at the Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition at Arnold Palmer Hospital, where she provides comprehensive nutritional care for children and families facing a range of GI challenges. She has previously served on the CPNP planning committee for NASPGHAN and was the communications co-chair for POWER (Pediatric Obesity Weight Evaluation Registry). She enjoys volunteering in her community and spending time with her family.
Abigail Lundin, MS, RD
Past President
Abigail has been working at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland for over 10 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She works in a clinical role, specializing in pediatric GI, including IBD and feeding disorders. She has been a member of CPNP since its first year and hasn't missed an Annual Conference for a decade! She served as the CPNP Media Chair prior to becoming President-Elect, President and then Past President.

- Serves as the designated Executive Committee member for the Nominating Committee
- Receives electronic ballots during election cycles
- Serves as CPNP’s representative to the NASPGHAN Foundation
- Collaborates with NASPGHAN Foundation to support patient education materials, scholarships and research endeavors
- Attends the NASPGHAN Foundation board meeting and meetings with industry partners at the annual meeting
- Assembles a summary of achievements throughout the year and a wish list of things that CPNP would like to do in the future
- Serves as CPNP representative on the NASPGHAN Public Affairs and Advocacy Committee
- Serves as resource to President and President elect
- Attends meetings and conference calls
- Attends the NASPGHAN/CPNP/APGNN annual meeting, and is available to assist in meeting per request of the Program Chair in such tasks as moderating sessions, way finding, etc.
- Performs all duties delegated by the President
Essential Written Materials:
- Access to Gmail (Executive Council passwords) and Google documents
- Election documents
- Nomination form
- Election ballots with no less than 1 candidate for each open chair position
- Nominations/election update for the annual CPNP Board Meeting and CPNP Business Meeting
Deadlines:
- Call for Executive Committee nominations via nomination forms or CPNP newsletter – June/July (3-4 months prior to the annual meeting)
- After presentation and approval of the Nominating Committee, verifies that the nominees know that they have been nominated and requests pictures/bios from all nominees for the ballot
- Ensure NASPGHAN office sends out ballots – August (2 months prior to the annual meeting)
- Receive election results prior to the annual meeting and notify elected chairs
- Prepare pertinent materials for CPNP Executive Committee meetings – monthly
- Prepare pertinent materials for annual CPNP Board Meeting – September/October
- Prepare Past President’s report and Committee report for the annual CPNP Business Meeting – September/October
