NASPGHAN Educational Mission Statement

The education mission of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is to:

  • Advance understanding of normal development, physiology and pathophysiology of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and nutrition in children.
  • Improve professional competence, quality of care, and patient outcomes by disseminating knowledge through scientific meetings, professional, and public education.

Our activities, education, and interventions will strive to use Adult Learning Methods (ALM) designed to improve competence, practice performance, and patient outcomes in measurable ways. These educational activities will be targeted to pediatric gastroenterologists, physicians with an expertise in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition, subspecialty fellows in pediatric gastroenterology, and nurses specializing in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition.
