Three-Part Virtual Course offers Expert Educator and Presenter Training
NASPGHAN is pleased to announce its annual DEEP Program: Developing Educators and Expert Presenters.
Now in its third year, the DEEP Program has supported more than 40 graduates in strengthening their skills as educators and presenters.
This interactive professional development program is designed to help NASPGHAN members enhance their presentation skills, build confidence as educators, and prepare for future speaking opportunities.
Through a combination of didactic instruction, small-group practice, and guided reflection, participants will learn practical strategies for developing and delivering engaging, effective presentations.
The DEEP Program will include three virtual sessions:
Session One: Development and Delivery of a Dynamic Presentation
August 12 at 7PM ET
Medical education experts, including members of the Medical Education SIG, will share best practices for preparing and delivering effective presentations. Topics will include setting yourself up for success, teaching effectively, understanding your audience, and PowerPoint fundamentals. Reading materials will be provided in advance, and the session will include interactive discussion between participants and presenters.
Session Two: Practice Delivering a Dynamic Presentation

Participants will be divided into small groups, with each group led by an expert facilitator. These small-group sessions will be held on various dates and times. Each participant will deliver a brief presentation and receive constructive feedback from both the facilitator and fellow participants.
Session Three: Applying Your Skills: Reflection and Next Steps

The final session will bring participants back together to reflect on what they learned, discuss how they applied their new presentation tools, and share insights from their small-group practice sessions. Participants will also have the opportunity to consider next steps for continued development as educators and presenters.
To be eligible, applicants must be NASPGHAN members who have completed a Pediatric GI fellowship program, and based in North America.
Participation is limited to the first 20 applicants who complete all submission requirements.
The deadline to apply is July 31, 2026.
Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit the following through the submission site:
• Completed application
• CV
• Letter of support from a Chair or Division Chief, which will be requested through the OpenWater site during the application process
All interested applicants should complete the required components through the submission site.
Only participants who attend all sessions will be eligible for credit and will receive a certificate of completion from the NASPGHAN Speakers Bureau.
Please note that completion of the DEEP Program does not guarantee a speaking role at a NASPGHAN event.
