Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition

NASPGHAN, in partnership with the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN), publishes the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.

JPGN solicits original research manuscripts in areas of developmental biology and pathogenesis broadly related to intestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic functions. All articles are published as PAP (Published-Ahead-of-Print) within 3-5 days of acceptance. The backlog of Original Articles is now only 3-4 months for in-print publication. Manuscripts with novel scientific data or findings of primary public health importance may be submitted for rapid publication. These submissions are prioritized for publication following a rapid review process completed in 10 days or less. The usual turnaround time from initial submission to PAP is less than 2 weeks, with publication in the next issue (approximately 2 months). Manuscripts can be submitted online.

JPGN Reports provides a forum for exchange of information pertinent to the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition aimed to enhance the care of pediatric and young adult patients and for investigators to pursue related areas requiring further study.  The journal fills a specific broadly inclusive niche for reports across the spectrum of clinical and translational research from bench to public health, clinical study protocols, reports on scientific conferences and workshops, clinical reports of novel cases and treatment opportunities in this field.

JPGN Reports, a joint publication by the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN), is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes novel case reports, images and videos, original articles, clinical trials protocols, review articles, short communications, letters to the editor, selected meeting proceedings, editorials and commentaries on all aspects of clinical and translational research, educational, and public health issues in the area of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. JPGN Reports also welcomes novel exploratory hypothesis-generating research, qualitative and quantitative epidemiologic research, studies of novel mechanisms and methodologies including public health interventions, hypothesis-generating small studies, methods papers, and translational research applicable for pediatric pathogenesis and physiology in health and disease.
