Why Apply?

This course is designed to provide specialized hepatology education and offers a unique opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in a small group setting. It is particularly beneficial for 3rd year fellows and general pediatric gastroenterologists who are not at a transplant center and who do not have a hepatologist in their practice.

Eligibility

  • Be a NASPGHAN member and have their membership dues paid in full by January 31, 2025
  • Be a 3rd year pediatric GI fellow at a program without liver transplant or have completed a Pediatric gastroenterology fellowship within the past 15 years
  • Be based in North America

Program Overview

The course will include didactic lectures, a series of small group discussions and hands-on, case-based learning.

Topics covered include:

  • Diagnostic pointers including genetic panels for the cholestatic infant
  • Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease
  • Pediatric Acute Liver Failure
  • A practical approach to liver masses
  • Autoimmune liver diseases
  • Evaluation and management of chronic liver disease
  • Management of the long-term survivor of pediatric liver transplantation by the pediatric gastroenterologist
  • Novel drugs in pediatric liver disease
