Women's History Month

NASPGHAN Celebrates Women’s History Month

According to our 2021 member survey, 56% of NASPGHAN members self-identified as female. NASPGHAN is proud to celebrate the continued contributions made by our female members who have been both pivotal to the success and growth of this society as well as more globally to the fields of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology!

Recognized as an annual declared month in the US since 1987, Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society. Learn more about Women’s History Month and ways to celebrate at https://womenshistorymonth.gov/

The National Women’s History Alliance designates a yearly theme for Women’s History Month with the 2022 theme being “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.” This theme is “both a tribute to the ceaseless work of caregivers and frontline workers during this ongoing pandemic and also a recognition of the thousands of ways that women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history.” In this spirit, NASPGHAN remains indebted to the tireless work of female healers and leaders.
